Time for an opinion piece/editorial/something, folks. So images of Sonic the Hedgehog wielding a sword have surfaced from a Nintendo magazine - promo pictures for another "Sonic storybook" followup to Sonic and the Secret Rings - Sonic and the Black Knight, and once again, the fans forgot that they were talking about a blue cartoon animal...
Maybe it's just because the guys behind E3 have changed the nature of the event, but all of the major console developer conferences were very dull this year. Sony's was probably the strongest videogame conference, however.
While we mostly were treated to footage of multiplatform games we already have seen for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the opening footage of Resistance 2 with a gigantic boss creature was absolutely fantastic, and the announcement of another Ratchet & Clank (This time downloadable from PlayStation Network) and Resistance PSP were also exciting.
The "gloating about sales" section was surprisingly un-modest for the least successful console of the moment, but it was nice and colourful using LittleBigPlanet to show the results rather than graphs.
Boring, but probably more satisfying than the other two.
I don't think I'll be watching next year's E3 conferences.
